“If I were a rich man…”
“Money makes the world go ‘round”
“Money, money, money
Always sunny”
Fiddler on the Roof, Cabaret, Mamma Mia, and many other musicals reference money as a necessity. But 42nd Street’s, “We’re in the Money” isn’t something most theatres - or public schools - can boast! The $4880 that AISD is able to alot for the LASA theatre program for this entire school year is barely more than the $4,579.80 that the rights and scripts for Hadestown Teen Edition cost. Our goal for this year is to raise $40,000. Funds raised will provide for things such as guest artist support for students, a UIL clinic, coverage of budget shortfalls, and more.

Our fundraisers for 2024-2025 season include the following:
Letter Writing Campaign
ACP students/families can help with fundraising by writing to friends and family in the fall - or later in the year - asking for financial support for this work that means so much to them. The Boosters club has provided a template here to alleviate some of the workload in this. You can share the https://givebutter.com/LASAACP2425 campaign on social media, too!
Corporate Sponsorship & In-Kind Donations
Do you know a business owner who might sponsor us financially, or donate goods and services? Can you ask businesses you frequent for support? To make it easy peasy, we've provided an email template, a script, and a form to share your contacts with us. Our benefits package flyer can be emailed or printed to hand out for in-person visits.
52-Card Pickup Raffle
This raffle is planned for the second semester, and is your chance to win 52 gift cards, each worth $50! With a limited number of raffle tickets to be sold, your $50 ticket has a great chance of winning an entire year of dinners and date nights, valued at $2600! Expect to see a growing list of prizes on our website and social media as donations are made throughout the year!
Want to help put this mega raffle together? Refer to "Corporate Sponsorship & In-Kind Donations" just above for resources to help collect donations of gift cards!
Digital (&/or Program) Shout-Outs
We are currently seeking at least one volunteer to take on this fundraiser, either for the season or for a single show. Shout-Outs can be ads for businesses as a benefit to sponsors/donors, or purchased by friends/family to celebrate an Alley Cat Player. Digital Shout-Outs would be a slideshow of videos/still photos projected in the theatre before the show and at intermission. They could also be shared in the lobby (pending acquisition/installation of the technology to do so) and emailed to company members after the show closes, as a digital keepsake.
Program Shout-Outs would be similar but because printing programs is so expensive, we are prioritizing digital for now. Securing a printing sponsor is a Boosters goal!
If you are interested in being a part of making this happen, email lasaacpparents@gmail.com or fill out this form.
Concessions
In the lobby at each show you can expect to find snacks and beverages for your enjoyment. We accept cash, Paypal, and Venmo.
Concession sales really add up, and when the drinks and snacks are donated, 100% of the proceeds go to support the theatre program. You can donate concessions with the info on our Volunteer page!
Players’ Pick-Me-Ups (& Treats & Trinkets)
At each show you can purchase Concessions and sometimes special treats or trinkets for not only for yourself, but also for the Alley Cat Players, who can pick up the goodies from their bags when they need a Pick-Me-Up between opening night and closing night.
You can volunteer to organize the Pick-Me-Ups here and volunteer to donate and coordinate Treats and Trinkets sales here. Volunteer for just one show or for as many as you like! Please be sure to read the job notes linked in each SignUp Genius.
Good Show Notes
Like many local theatres, we have a tradition of honoring our Players with Good Show Notes. At Concessions you’ll find notes to tape onto Players’ headshots in the lobby. This is a great way to tell them how proud you are, and how much you enjoy their work! In the past this has been a fundraiser, but to shift the focus to uplifting our Players, for The Importance of Being Earnest, we will offer Good Show Notes free of charge, and hopefully see a lot more notes go up as a result!
If you would like to volunteer to coordinate the materials for Good Show Notes, or to design and print the headshots for them (using theatre-provided photos) you can sign up here. Please be sure to read the linked job notes on the SignUp Genius for more details.
